Hello, winter

This has been the best winter ever in the entire history of Kansas. It's an historical fact, folks. Okay, I totally made that up, but it's probably true. Winter around here (like a lot of places) is normally a bitterly cold monster that has no mercy on your chapped, frozen hands or the misery in your soul. But this year, winter decided to play nice. Other than a few cold days here and there, this one has been nothing but awesome. At least in my part of Kansas, anyway. Some days it's even been in the mid-60s. OH YEAH!

The ability to go outside without feeling the warmth being sucked out of our veins has been a nice change. Needless to say, going to the park in the dead of winter is normally out of the question. That is, unless you enjoy the feel of your face turning into a block of ice and breaking into a thousand pieces. But this year? This year the park has (for the most part) been a reasonable place to be. If winter ever finally decides to make a real appearance I'll have to karate chop it in the head. For the greater good, you know.

Wicked cool slide-static usually has to wait until spring.

Every winter should be this amazing, don't you think?
